About Our Landfill

The Gulley-Hurst facility reserves the right to reject any waste material which may cause an odor or nuisance condition or require excessive or special on site handling requirements or which could possibly cause or lead to environmental deterioration of the site

Landfill Policies

1. Must provide valid driver's license or state issued Identification card.
2. All loads must be tarped or tied down, unsecured loads will be charged an Additional fee.

Types of Items Accepted


Solid waste resulting from the construction, remodeling, or repair and demolition of structures, roads, sidewalks, and utilities, including, but not limited to, bricks, concrete, and other masonry materials, soil, rock, wood, wood products, wall or floor coverings, plaster, drywall, plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, electrical components containing no hazardous materials, non-asbestos insulation, and small quantities of construction related packaging.

Trees, brush and sod

Metal

Untreated wood and untreated sawdust; wood pallets

Processed wood which is not considered to present a significant risk of adverse impacts to groundwater quality, including coated wood

Mobile homes and trailers(except the tires and fuel tanks)

Furniture and appliances from which ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons have been removed in accordance with the provisions of the federal clean air act.

Types of Items Prohibited


Putrescible waste; (wet garbage, food wastes, fruit, vegetable, meat, etc.) Household Hazardous waste; Regulated hazardous waste, per §330.15(e)(7);

PCB waste, per §330.15(e)(8);

Class 1 industrial waste;

Used oil or oil filters;

Lead acid storage batteries, per §330.15(e)(1);

Whole used or scrap tires, per §330.15(e)(4), unless split and quartered or shredded and they do not come from a tire disposer/recycler who is reimbursed from the state Waste Tire Recycling Fund;

Liquid wastes, per §330.15(e)(6);

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and any other items containing Chlorinated Fluorocarbon (CFC’s), must be handled in accordance to 40 CFR § 82.156(f)& CFC containing materials, per §330.15(e)(5) prior to acceptance;

Radioactive materials, per §330.15(e)(9); and Any other special waste, as defined in 30 TAC §330.3(148), such as dead animals, liquids, sludges, petroleum contaminated soil, etc.
